Strood Town District Girl Guides

Hi,

My name is Sarah Roots and I am the District Commissioner for Strood Town District Guides.

Girl Guiding has been offering a wide and exciting programme of activities to girls for the past 100 years. Here in Strood Town we have 3 Rainbow Units, 4 Brownie Units, 3 Guide Units and 1 Rangers Unit enabling us to offer girls of all ages the opportunity to learn new skills, take on new challenges and really make a difference. In the first 6 months after I became DC over 120 girls celebrated the Royal Wedding with a day of activities ending with a disco; our Rainbows visited London and took part in the Colour Carnival; our Brownies raised over £100 for Marie Curie; some of our Guides and Rangers visited London to earn their London Challenge Badge; earned many other badges; had sleepovers and a lot of laughs along the way.

We have a wonderful team of Volunteers who provide our girls with a safe, fun environment where they can grow in confidence as individuals and develop to reach their full potential. We also find time to have some fun ourselves whilst making life long friends, using our skills, and learning new skills along the way. We are always looking for more people to join us. Did you know just 1 volunteer can mean between another 5 and 12 girls joining a unit?

I am proud to be a part of Strood Town and proud of the over 200 girls and young women who are the heart of our District.

If you would like to find out more about the types of opportunities we can offer your daughter or if you are interested in becoming part of our team then please contact me on chezroots@blueyonder.co.uk

Yours

Mrs Sarah Roots
Strood Town District Commissioner
